Despite stay-at-home orders being lifted nearly a month ago in Arizona, restaurants in the Phoenix area have reported potential coronavirus exposure, causing them to shutter once more.
Some of these businesses have closed again temporarily for a few days while others have opted for a safer, few-week option until they feel it is safe to reopen again.
In the past several days, some of these shuttered-again restaurants include Chelsea's Kitchen, The Porch, Hash Kitchen, SanTan Brewing, Spirit House, Floridino's Pizza & Pasta, The Shop Beer Co., and PHX Beer Co.
Some of the aforementioned restaurants have already reopened after closing for the second time.
Recently, the state has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases. On Saturday, June 13, the Arizona Department of Health Services reported 1,540 new cases of coronavirus and 39 new deaths.
In social media posts across the board, the aforementioned restaurants explained to customers their decisions to close for either a short period of time or indefinitely.
The Porch wrote on Facebook, "Given the recent exposure concerns, we have decided to temporarily close in order to allow all of our team members to get tested. We will reopen when we have all test results from our team, and have ensured that it is safe for our staff and customers to return."
The state's total rests at 34,458 cases and 1,183 deaths.
