MASSAPEQUA PARK, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An excavator was seen in the dug-up backyard of Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect Rex Heuermann on Monday as investigators searched his Nassau County property for an 11th straight day.
The digging equipment was brought to the house on First Avenue in Massapequa Park over the weekend. Ground-penetrating radar and cadaver dogs were also used at the property.

Meanwhile in the basement, police reportedly found a vault-like structure with a heavy door that was used to store hundreds of guns. It's unclear what else may have been found inside.
Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison said this will likely be the final week for daily searches of the home by investigators.

It's unclear if Heuermann's wife, who filed for divorce last week, will return to the house with her two adult children. They've been staying at an unknown location. Heuermann remains in the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverhead after he was charged with murdering three women.
