HEWLETT, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Nassau County Police have arrested a Long Island driver who allegedly struck and killed an older man earlier this month and dragged his body to the side of the road before fleeing the scene, officials said Monday.
Yonatan Cohen, 21, is accused of striking 74-year-old Jeffrey Frank as he crossed Broadway near Everit Avenue in Hewlett just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
Police said that Cohen was traveling northbound in a dark-colored SUV when he allegedly hit Frank. Witnesses at the scene told police they saw the SUV driver exit his vehicle, drag the victim to the side of the road, reenter the car and drive off.

Frank, of Hewlett, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead by a physician.
Cohen was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an incident that resulted in death, police said. He was arraigned on Monday at the First District Court in Hempstead where court records show he pleaded not guilty.
His $15,000 cash bail was posted and Cohen is expected back in court on Thursday, Jan. 2, according to court records.
