Suffolk County Police on Tuesday released photos of the woman who was seen dropping off the dog off at Animal Emergency Service, located on Middle Country Road in Selden, on Nov. 28.

Authorities said she provided the shelter with false contact information and her identity remains unknown.

The dog, identified as 3-month-old Zushi, was returned to its owners shortly after being taken to the shelter.

Zushi was stolen from a Bay Shore home sometime between Nov. 27 and Nov. 28, according to police. Authorities said the dognappers also stole cash and clothing.

Earlier, that same week, a 4-year-old French bulldog named Stella was also taken from a home in Huntington.

It is still unclear if the two incidents were connected in any way.

Police are asking that anyone with information on the unidentified woman contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-220-TIPS or submitting a tip online at www.P3Tips.com.
