NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The heads of two New York City agencies will serve as volunteer advisers to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris during their transition to the White House.
New York City Department of Transportation Commissioner Polly Trottenberg will be one of 18 people comprising Biden and Harris’ “agency review team” focused on transportation, their transition team website says.
Department of City Planning Director Marisa Lago, meanwhile, will be one of 26 advisers focused on the Department of the Treasury, according to the site.
Agency review teams “are responsible for understanding the operations of each agency, ensuring a smooth transfer of power, and preparing for President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris and their cabinet to hit the ground running on Day One,” the website explains.
“These teams are composed of highly experienced and talented professionals with deep backgrounds in crucial policy areas across the federal government,” it adds.
