NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- President-elect Joe Biden is expected to name his White House chief of staff as soon as this week, according to a report on Wednesday from ABC News.

According to the report, Ron Klain, Biden’s former chief of staff who led the Obama administration’s response to the Ebola virus, is considered a leading contender, over the need to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

Steve Richetti and Bruce Reed, also both former chiefs of staff to Biden are also reportedly on Biden's short list.

President-elect Biden may also announce additional Cabinet-level positions later this month.

"I hope we're able to be in a position to let people know, at least a couple that we want before Thanksgiving and we'll just work this out. Look, I am not a pessimist," Biden said Tuesday.
