GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (1010 WINS) -- Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten dressed their twins in "infrastructure" costumes for their first Halloween.
"So yeah, my husband Chasten found these ... it's a little hard to describe, but basically they're like these traffic cones," he said on CNN Sunday morning. "They're infrastructure. Basically they're going to be going as infrastructure."

The Buttigiegs welcomed twins Penelope Rose and Joseph August in August. They've been staying in Chasten's hometown of Grand Rapids.
Chasten posted to social media photos of the the pair in their costumes, writing, "Happy Halloween from these #twinfrastructure safety advocates!."
He then explained that "Gus" was at the hospital.
"As you can see, we’re spending this Halloween in the hospital," Chasten wrote. "Gus has been having a rough go of it but we’re headed in the right direction."
He continued, "We’re so thankful for all of the love and support shown to our family these last few months. And also, for the dedicated and kind medical professionals who have helped take care of our two little pumpkins as they’ve grown stronger, healthier, and cuter."
Pete chimed in on social media, sharing Chasten's post, adding a pumpkin emoji.
