Paul Vernon Hoeffer, 60, made a series of phone calls in 2019 and 2020 in which he threatened to kill the two high-profile legislators and a prosecutor in Cook County, Illinois named Kim Foxx.

Pelosi was the first politician he threatened. In one 2019 phone call he said he’d "come a long, long way to rattle her head with bullets," according to court filings reported on by NBC.

The FBI traced his number and warned him that threatening government officials is a felony. He promised the feds he’d stop, but in November 2020 he called Ocasio-Cortez and threatened to decapitate her.

Vernon Hoeffer was let off easy with 18 months in prison. He faced a maximum of almost three and a half years.
