NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Dr. Jill Biden will be in New York City Thursday to attend the White House Historical Association's 60th Anniversary Gala, the White House announced Wednesday.

The first lady will deliver remarks at 7:45 p.m. at the event, which will take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The White House Historical Association is a private, nonprofit organization founded by Jacqueline Kennedy in 1961 "with a mission to protect, preserve, and provide public access to the rich history of America's Executive Mansion," according to its website.

"In New York for the day to finalize arrangements for our @WhiteHouseHstry 60th anniversary gala on Thursday at the @metmuseum! Honored to be part of a forward looking history mission!" tweeted the organization's president, Stewart McLaurin, on Saturday.
