NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Former President Donald Trump wanted the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission to keep shows including “Saturday Night Live” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from making fun of him during his presidency, according to a new report.

Two sources familiar with the matter told the Daily Beast Trump in 2019 asked his legal representatives and advisors whether the FCC, the DOJ and the federal courts system could look into the legality of several late-night comedy shows’ mockery of him.

The query came after Trump — who was not yet banned from Twitter — sent out an angry tweet about SNL, the outlet reported.

“It’s truly incredible that shows like Saturday Night Live, not funny/no talent, can spend all of their time knocking the same person (me) over & over, without so much of a mention of ‘the other side,’” Trump wrote. “Like an advertisement without consequences. Same with Late Night Shows. Should Federal Election Commission and/or FCC look into this?”

One of the sources told the Daily Beast Trump’s request was "more annoying than alarming, to be honest with you."
