NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Donald Trump surrendered Thursday night at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta in connection to 13 charges alleging he attempted to overturn the 2020 election results.

It's the former president's fourth arrest this year. This time, he is inmate # P01135809.He's also the first president with a mug shot.

Shortly after Trump surrendered, he made his return to X, formerly Twitter, writing, "ELECTION INTERFERENCE NEVER SURRENDER" along with his mug shot. Trump last posted on the social media platform in Jan. 2021, switching to his own Truth Social platform.

Trump's motorcade left from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, late Thursday afternoon and headed to Newark Liberty International Airport. From there, he headed on his Trump-branded Boeing jet to Atlanta, where he surrendered to jail officials around 7:30 p.m. He soon exited the jail, briefly spoke to reporters and then flew back to Newark.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' investigation kicked off after the release of a recording of a Jan. 2, 2021, phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in which Trump suggested that Raffensperger could "find 11,780 votes" — just enough to beat Joe Biden.

Trump has denied there was anything wrong with the call, claiming the case against him is politically motivated.
