MERCER COUNTY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — The death of a Princeton University student whose body was found on campus in October has been ruled a suicide, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said Wednesday.

The 20-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio, Misrach Ewunetie, went missing early on Oct. 14 prompting a high-profile, multi-day search.

Ewunetie’s body was found Oct. 20 near tennis courts and a facilities building on campus. The prosecutor’s office at the time said her body did not have any obvious signs of trauma and her death did not seem suspicious or criminal.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Ewunetie’s death was caused by a mix of the antidepressants bupropion and escitalopram with the antihistamine hydroxyzine toxicity.

The school held two vigils on campus last month in Ewunetie’s honor. She graduated from Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School in Cleveland as valedictorian. Ewunetie was to graduate in 2024 from Princeton University.
