NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A Trader Joe's soup that was sold in seven states, including Connecticut, is being recalled because it may contain bugs, the FDA said Thursday.
The supermarket chain's Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup may include "insects in the frozen broccoli florets," according to the FDA.
Nearly 11,000 cases of the 20-ounce soup product have been recalled.
In addition to Connecticut, the soup was sold in Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, California, Texas and Washington.
The use-by dates are between July 18 and Sept. 15, 2023, according to the FDA.
The product’s manufacturer, Winter Gardens Quality Foods, initiated the recall.
Earlier this week, Trader Joe's recalled Almond Windmill Cookies and Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies because some batches may contain rocks.
