NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two men who went fishing on the Long Island Sound on Tuesday were found dead in the estuary early Wednesday morning, police said.
Roberto Guevarra, 36, and Roberto Murillo, 60, of Huntington Station, launched a canoe into the Sound from Makamah Beach in Fort Salonga around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Suffolk County police said.
The two men were reported missing at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.
Search crews found their bodies in the Sound, off of Eatons Neck, around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, according to police.
The Medical Examiner will determine how they died, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
