NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two upstate New York men were arrested after they returned a rental car and then came back to retrieve the drugs they'd left inside the vehicle, authorities said.
A rental company at Albany International Airport alerted police that a car was returned with drugs inside, according to WTEN in Albany.
Deputies from the Albany County Sheriff's Office responded to the airport, where they encountered Aasim Hilts, 26, and Shariff Frasier, authorities said.
The duo had returned to retrieve the drugs they'd forgotten in the vehicle, according to the sheriff's office.
The deputies interviewed Hilts and then allegedly found he was in possession of 140 glassine envelopes of heroin, more than 35 grams of MDMA, 62 counterfeit oxycodone pills pressed with fentanyl, 10 suboxone strips, marijuana and over $5,600, according to the report.
Hilts was arraigned and released under supervision.
