MERRICK, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Police launched an investigation after a man's body was found inside a van at a Long Island shopping mall parking lot on Thursday.
According to detectives, at 5:34 p.m., officers responded to the rear parking lot of the Merrick Commons located at 1630 Merrick Rd.
Upon arrival, police found a 70-year-old man dead in a 2004 Ford Econoline Van.
The body was removed from scene and brought to the Medical Examiner’s office for further examination. The incident does not appear to be suspicious at this time, officials said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
