EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested an "aggressive" patient accused of biting a police officer at Long Island hospital on Wednesday, authorities said.
Anthony C. Gomez, 21, of Lawrence, Massachusetts was charged with assault.
According to detectives, while being admitted as a patient into Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, Gomez became aggressive with medical personnel.
Officers at scene intervened in an attempt to subdue Gomez when he bit an officer on the leg.
Gomez was placed under arrest without further incident. The officer was evaluated and treated for his injuries.
He will be arraigned when medically practical.
