NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A teen boy was injured when an illegal firework struck him in the face on Long Island Sunday night, officials said.
According to police, just before 11 p.m., a group of teens lit their own Fourth of July fireworks on Arcadia Drive in the Deer Park neighborhood, striking the 13-year-old boy in the face by a firework.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries, Suffolk County officials said.
Detectives are investigating the incident and where the teens got the illegal fireworks from.
