EAST MEADOW, N.Y.. (1010 WINS) — A 14-year-old boy was arrested Sunday evening for allegedly threatening to bring a firearm to a Long Island high school, Nassau County officials said.
According detectives, East Meadow High School officials were alerted to a message sent by the student to other students, in which he stated he would bring a gun to the school and discharge it on Monday, Sept. 22.
Police were immediately notified and took the teen into custody without incident at his residence.
The teen was charged with making a threat of mass harm. He was released on an appearance ticket for Family Court.
The incident comes after a Queens high school student was arrested Thursday for bringing a loaded gun to class and writing on social media that he wanted to "shoot the school up," authorities said.
