NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A dad and his seven-year-old son were killed in a New Rochelle crash early Sunday morning that also injured his two other children, police said.
New Rochelle officers responding to the crash around 1:32 am found the family's Nissan Altima had collided with a brick retaining wall opposite an exit ramp of the Hutchinson River Parkway.
The dad, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Twin brothers, ages 7, were occupying the back seats and were transported to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition. One of the brothers was pronounced dead at the hospital while the other was undergoing surgery for severe internal injuries, police said.
The dad's 11-year-old daughter was in the front passenger seat at the time of the crash and was transported to the same hospital. She underwent surgery for internal injuries and was listed in stable condition, police said.
The cause of the investigation is still under investigation.
