NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The brand behind the infamous “Cuomosexual” sweaters is offering free tailoring for customers feeling fleeced.
Lingua Franca will replace the stitching on any of the $400 cashmere “Cuomosexual” and “Cuomo for president” sweaters it designed and sold during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
The shop announced the deal on Instagram Wednesday with a photo showing a sweater with the slogan “believe survivors,” a day after Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned in disgrace following a damning investigation into sexual harassment allegations against him.
“Calling our community: In light of recent news, we feel it is our duty to update the stitching on any ‘Cuomosexual’ or ‘cuomo for president’ sweaters that were purchased last year, to a new phrase of your choice,” the brand wrote.
The sweaters were emblematic of Cuomo’s surge in popularity that came with his Emmy-award-winning daily briefings during the pandemic — and his remarkable fall from grace following scandals relating to sexual harassment and nursing home deaths.

Cuomo has denied the findings in the report — even as he announced his resignation — causing his to accusers to criticize him for gaslighting and revictimizing them.
With the governor’s resignation taking effect 14 days after his announcement, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul is preparing to assume the position.
The state Assembly is still debating whether to continue with its impeachment probe into Cuomo, which can have implications on whether he will be allowed to run for the office again in the future.
