NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A driver hit an 11-year-old boy who was trying to cross the street on Long Island on Monday, Nassau County police said.
The driver, a 34-year-old man, was behind the wheel of a 2021 Honda Accord traveling westbound on Thoma Place in Roosevelt when he hit the boy, according to police.
The victim suffered a leg injury and was taken to Cohen Children's Medical Center for evaluation and treatment by a Nassau County Police helicopter.
The driver remained at scene.
"No criminality is suspected at this time," police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
