NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Suffolk County officials are investigating a multi-vehicle collision that killed one driver and injured three others on Long Island Thursday night.

The incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. when a 2009 Mazda struck a 2021 Toyota Camry and 2001 Honda Accord from behind as they were stopped at a light on Grand Avenue in Deer Park, police said.

The impact from the crash forced all three vehicles into the intersection, causing a collision with a 2020 Nissan Sentra heading south on Deer Park Avenue, authorities said.

The crash also forced the Toyota across Deer Park Avenue and off the roadway.

EMS rushed the 35-year-old man driving the Toyota to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Andra Perry, the 18-year-old driver of the Mazda was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda, 45-year-old Ying Zhang, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jordan Stern, 32, the driver of the Nissan, was not injured.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks.

There have been no arrests and an investigation remains ongoing.
