NEW CITY, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Four members of a family were found dead with gunshot wounds in a home in New City early Saturday morning in what appears to be a murder-suicide perpetrated by the father, the Clarkstown Police Department said.

Officers conducted a welfare check at 10 Clydesdale Ct. at 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, police said.

Upon entry, officers discovered a deceased man, woman and two juvenile boys.

The family was identified by police as the Morgan family: Watson Morgan, 49; Ornela Morgan, 43; and their two sons, ages 12 and 10.

Watson was employed as a Sergeant with the Bronxville Police Department, officials confirmed.

His wife, Ornela, and her sons were all shot, while Watson had what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

At this point in the investigation, police believe Watson shot and killed his family before turning the gun on himself.

A handgun was recovered from the scene, police said.

The ongoing investigation is of an isolated incident and the public is not in danger, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call The Clarkstown Police Department Detective Bureau at 845-639-5840.
