JERICHO, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Nassau County officials are investigating after a pedestrian was fatally stuck by a FedEx truck in a crash on Long Island Sunday afternoon.
According to detectives, at 2:45 p.m. a 2004 FedEx truck, driven by a 28-year-old man, was traveling eastbound in the right lane on the Long Island Expressway when it struck a 33-year-old man between exits 40W and 40E in Jericho.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County police medic.
No other injuries were reported and the operator remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
