NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Skeletal remains found in a wooded area on Long Island last month belonged to a teen from Hempstead, authorities said Monday.
Nineteen-year-old Gerson Pineda's remains were found on the west side of Meadowbrook Parkway in Uniondale around 9 a.m. on July 20, Nassau County police said.
Pineda's death is being investigated as a possible murder, according to police.
The department didn't immediately provide any additional details. An investigation is ongoing.
