NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Assemblyman Ron Kim have tested positive for COVID-19, they said Tuesday.
“Dear friends and colleagues, unfortunately I have tested positive for COVID,” Kim wrote on Twitter Tuesday afternoon. “I am well and have only mild symptoms. I am in quarantine and have cancelled in-person engagements for the next 10 days.”
In his own tweet, Heastie wrote that he, too, was “currently experiencing only extremely mild symptoms.”
“I am in frequent contact with my physician and look forward to a full recovery,” he said, adding that he "received the first of two COVID vaccine doses" on March 6.
