UNIONDALE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A Long Island couple who died of gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide over the weekend were identified by police on Tuesday.
On Sunday, Oct. 29, police responded to a call of a violent domestic incident involving a handgun at a Newton Avenue home in Uniondale.
When officers arrived, they found the victims unresponsive in a bedroom with gunshot injuries, police said.
They were later identified as Vanessa Johnson-Williams, 43, and Ralph Williams, 45.
Williams fatally shot his wife before shooting himself, according to Nassau County officials.
They were both transported to a hospital where Johnson-Williams was pronounced dead.
Williams was in serious condition. Authorities on Tuesday said he died.
An investigation remains ongoing.
