NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Long Island high school teacher was arrested and charged with rape after she allegedly had a “sexual relationship” with a student, police said Monday.
Veronica Pezdan, who teaches math at Shoreham-Wading River High School in Shoreham, was arrested around 11 a.m. on Monday, Suffolk County police said in a press release.
The 28-year-old teacher, who lives in Holbrook, allegedly had a “sexual relationship” with a male student “during the past two months," the department said.
Pezdan has been charged with two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She is expected to appear in court on Tuesday, police said.
Her attorney information wasn’t immediately available Monday.
