WANTAGH, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A Long Island Jeep service center employee was killed Thursday morning when a co-worker struck and backed over him, authorities said.
According to detectives, at 10:10a.m., a 32-year-old employee at the Merrick Jeep Chrysler Dodge service center located at 3588 Sunrise Highway in Wantagh, was struck by a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 20-year-old employee as he was backing up.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
The driver of the vehicle remained at scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
