GARDEN CITY PARK, N.Y.. (1010 WINS) -- Officials are investigating an arson that occurred at a man's Long Island residence early Monday morning, authorities said.
According to detectives, at 3:14 a.m., a 23-year-old man called 911 to report a car fire in his driveway at his Second Street residence in Garden City Park.
Upon arrival, police conducted a thorough investigation and determined that an unknown suspect was seen running from the victim's driveway and fled on foot eastbound on Second Street.
The 2012 BMW parked in the driveway sustained heavy fire damage.
The New Hyde Park Fire Department responded and extinguished the car fire.
There were no injuries were reported and an investigation remains ongoing.
