BELLPORT, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a Long Island high school teacher on Tuesday accused of raping his student in 2020, authorities said.
Following an investigation Special Victims Section detectives arrested William Sperl, 60, just after 12 p.m. at Eastern Suffolk BOCES, located at 350 Martha Ave., in Bellport.
Sperl is currently an audio production teacher for the Riverhead campus of Eastern Suffolk BOCES and engaged in a sexual relationship with a female student in 2020 while the student was a minor, officials said.
He was charged with four counts of rape and seven counts of a criminal sex act.
Sperl is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
