NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The majority of New York state residents plan to cast their votes in person this November, despite the fact that all registered voters are allowed to vote by absentee ballot due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a new poll found.
Siena College surveyed 504 New Yorkers between Sept. 27 and Sept. 29 and found that 54 percent of them planned to vote in person on Nov. 3, the New York Post reported.
Seventeen percent, meanwhile, said they planned to vote early, according to the outlet.
An additional 16 percent said they planned to vote by mail. Thirteen percent said they were undecided or did not answer the question, the outlet reported.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo in August signed legislation that will allow all New Yorkers to vote by absentee ballot due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
New York state voters can request absentee ballots via the state’s online absentee ballot portal.
