OCEANSIDE, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 53-year-old Long Beach man was arrested after he allegedly attacked a nurse at a Long Island hospital over the weekend, authorities said Tuesday.
It happened at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 in Oceanside, according to police.
Officers responded to Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital, located at 1 Healthy Way for a report of an assault on a registered nurse.
Omid Zar became violent with hospital staff by striking a nurse multiple times in the abdomen causing substantial pain, detectives said.
Zar was placed under arrest without further incident.
He was charged with assault and arraigned on Monday.
