
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man accused of damaging a menorah outside of a Long Island home on Wednesday.
According to detectives, at 12:35 a.m., the suspect walked up to a large menorah located on the front lawn of a residence on Nassau Boulevard in Hempstead.
He then used an unknown object and struck the menorah, destroying two lights and causing approximately $2,000 in damages before fleeing on foot on Nassau Boulevard in an unknown direction.
The investigation is ongoing.
The suspect was last seen wearing dark colored clothing and a black backpack.
