NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) —The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of millions of rolling candies on Thursday after a 7-year-old girl from New York choked and died in April.
One of the recalls impacts Cocco Candy’s "Rolling Candy," produced by Cocco Candy, a Turkish company, and distributed by KGR Distribution Corporation of Passaic, New Jersey.
The candy features a rolling ball that can come loose, as was the case with the 7-year-old girl who had the ball stuck in her throat, officials said.
The CPSC, in cooperation with the candy company, initiated a recall of approximately 145,800 Cocco Candy's Rolling Candies, which come in various flavors, including Sour Strawberry, Sour Tutti Frutti, and Sour Cola.
Consumers can identify the affected products by checking the specific barcode printed on the back of the candy packaging, which is available on the CPSC's website.
The second recall impacts Candy Dynamics's " Slime Licker Sour Rolling Liquid Candy," a product imported from Spain and Colombia by the Indiana-based Candy Dynamics.

About 70 million units of the Slime Licker candy were recalled, including the Blue Razz, Strawberry, Sour Apple and Black Cherry flavors in two-ounce and three-ounce containers, the CPSC said.
No injuries have been reported in the Slime Licker recall, officials said.
Consumers can find out more about the recall, including the UPC codes, at the CPSC's website.
Consumers are strongly advised to discontinue using the candies immediately and ensure that it is kept out of the reach of children. For refund or further guidance, consumers should contact KGR Distribution Corp directly.
