Advocacy group to fly banner over State Capitol today: 'THE REPORT IS IN. REMOVE CUOMO NOW'

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A plane pulling a banner calling for Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s removal from office is set to fly over the New York State Capitol in Albany Wednesday afternoon — hours after two protests were scheduled to take place outside his Manhattan office.

UltraViolet, a women’s advocacy organization, has commissioned a plane that will fly over the Capitol at 1 p.m. with a banner reading “THE REPORT IS IN. REMOVE CUOMO NOW,” the group said in a press release.

New York City Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa, meanwhile, was slated to lead a 10 a.m. protest outside Cuomo’s office in Midtown East calling for the governor’s resignation.

And a group of tenants advocates and elected officials were set to protest in front of the same building at 11 a.m.

New York State Senators Gustavo Rivera, Julia Salazar and Jabari Brisport were among the lawmakers scheduled to attend the rally, according to a release.

The protests came a day after New York Attorney General Letitia James released a report detailing the results of her office’s months-long investigation into myriad accusations of sexual harassment lodged against Cuomo.

The report found that the governor sexually harassed at least 11 women, including current and former aides.

Hours after the report's release, the governor continued to maintain he "never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances," adding that the "facts are much different than what has been portrayed."
