NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 13-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday in connection with a series of robberies at a bicycle shop on Long Island, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Police responded to an attempted robbery around 2:40 a.m. at Merrick Bicycles on Merrick Avenue.
Authorities said that the suspect, a 13-year-old boy, attempted to burglarize the shop but fled the scene before he was able to break in. The teen was arrested shortly after and taken into custody.
Following an investigation, police determined that the teen was also responsible for two other burglary incidents at the same location on Aug.13 and Aug. 16.
He was arrested without incident and charged with third-degree burglary, two counts of attempted third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and possession of burglar tools.
