Police ID person found dead in Huntington suitcase

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Suffolk County police have identified a woman whose body was found in a suitcase Tuesday in a wooded area on Long Island, authorities announced on Thursday.

Seikeya Jones, 31, who is undomiciled, has been identified as the person found in a suitcase in the wooded Huntington area on Sept. 3, according to Suffolk County officials.

A resident made the gruesome discovery in the thicket adjacent to 320 Nassau Rd. shortly before noon, police said Wednesday.

The resident smelled a foul odor and saw a swarm of flies, leading them to the suitcase with a foot sticking out of it, according to police and witnesses.

The cause of death is still being determined by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.
