HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Haverstraw police have identified a suspect they in connection to the shooting death of an 18-year-old man on Monday.
Officials on Tuesday announced they are searching for 18-year-old Yandie Martinez as they released photos of the suspect.
Martinez has distinctive tattoos and is armed and dangerous, police said.
According to authorities, the shooting happened at about 4:30 p.m. near Fairmount Avenue and West Street.
Upon arrival, first responders found one car crashed into a parked vehicle.
Police identified the driver as 29-year-old Christian Alvarado after he was found on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, police said.
Alvarado was rushed to Nyack Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officials continue to investigate a motive for the shooting.
