
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a teen after he allegedly sexually assaulted a girl inside a New Rochelle park Monday morning—and he's also been charged in a second attack from last week.
At approximately 9:33 a.m., New Rochelle Police officers responded to Five Islands Park located at 81 Le Fevres Ln. on the report of a sexual assault.
The girl was located and treated for her injuries at a local hospital.
The victim stated an unknown male had followed her down Main Street to the park where she was grabbed from behind and assaulted.
A woman witnessed the attack and intervened, causing the boy to flee the scene.
Police canvassed the area and found the 15-year-old suspect near New Rochelle High School at 2 p.m.
The teen was arrested without incident.
Detectives were also able to link the teen to an assault that occurred on August 4th, on Soundview Street in New Rochelle.
Police allege that the teen similarly followed a girl, attacked her from behind and brought her to the ground. Two witnesses called out, scaring the suspect off.
In both incidents, the attacker was unknown to the victim.
The teen was charged with aggravated sexual abuse, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, forcible touching in the Aug. 7 attack.
