NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Donald Trump took shots at beleaguered Gov. Andrew Cuomo during a Republican fundraiser in Westchester County on Thursday night, saying the governor has “real problems” and predicting that the state would elect a Republican to replace him.

“It’s going to be a hot couple of weeks in Albany,” the former president told hundreds of guests at the Trump National Golf Course in Briarcliff, as Cuomo faces renewed calls for his resignation and the possibility of impeachment amid a sexual harassment scandal.

Trump gave a nod to Senate Republican Minority Leader Robert Ortt, saying the senator is “going to have a great time” if Cuomo faces an impeachment trial in the state Senate, according to the New York Post.

“Cuomo’s got real problems,” Trump said of the embattled governor, two days after an independent investigation overseen by state Attorney General Letitia James found he sexually harassed multiple women, findings that Cuomo has denied.

Trump, who has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct, said, “Cuomo has found himself in an interesting situation.”

The former president also slammed Cuomo as being “horrible on COVID.” And he said the governor and Mayor Bill de Blasio have “destroyed New York,” pointing to crime and higher taxes on the wealthy.

“We’re going to have a Republican governor,” Trump predicted as he gave shoutouts to GOP gubernatorial candidates Rep. Lee Zeldin and Andrew Giuliani at the fundraiser for the state Republican Committee.
