NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — New York is celebrating its essential workers and marking its latest COVID-19 vaccine milestone by holding 10 fireworks shows across the state Tuesday night.
The shows will kick off at 9:15 p.m. at the following locations in New York City and on Long Island, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a press release:

Jones Beach State Park
1 Ocean Parkway
Wantagh, NY 11793
Shows will also be held at the Empire State Plaza in Albany; at Binghamton University M Lot in Binghamton; at the Lake Placid Club in Lake Placid; at Niagara Falls State Park in Niagara Falls; at Memorial Park in Nyack; at the Rochester Dome Arena in Rochester; at the State Fairgrounds in Syracuse and in Downtown Utica, the governor said.
New York City residents will be able to view the fireworks by watching from sites including The Elevated Acre — a park at 55 Water Street — Battery Park, the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and the Brooklyn Bridge
As of Monday night, 70% of adults in New York state had received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, Cuomo said at a news briefing Tuesday afternoon. The state lifted most of its remaining virus-related restrictions effective Tuesday.
The following landmarks, meanwhile, will be illuminated in blue and gold to mark the vaccine milestone, the governor said:
