NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An 80-year-old woman was killed Thursday after a car rolled over her in her driveway at her Long Island home, officials said.
Just after 12 p.m., authorities said the woman was unloading groceries from the trunk of her 2014 Toyota Camry in the driveway of her house in Ronkonkoma when the vehicle rolled backward.
The victim, later identified as Marisa Orlando died at the scene.
Her 84-year-old husband, Pietro Orlando, was in the driver’s seat at the time of the incident, police said.
Officials are investigating what caused the vehicle to roll in reverse but said the fatal incident did not appear criminal.
