WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating the death of an 83-year-old woman who was struck by a pickup truck on Long Island over the weekend.
According to detectives, Clytee Felder-Knight was walking eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike and crossing Nassau Boulevard in West Hempstead around 3:25 p.m. Saturday when she was struck by a 2016 Dodge Ram being driven by a 36-year-old man making a left hand turn onto Nassau Boulevard.
Felder-Knight suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital in serious condition and was later pronounced dead.
The driver remained at scene. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
