BAY SHORE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Suffolk County Police arrested a woman Thursday accused of operating a dental practice without a license at a home on Long Island.

Detectives received information that Yolany Mejia Carranza was performing dental work without a license at a home, located at 1847 Heckscher Ave. in Bay Shore, officials said.

Authorities then executed a search warrant and discovered a fully functioning dentist office at the home.

Mejia Carranza, 55, of Huntington Station, was charged with three counts of unauthorized practice of a profession and was issued a desk appearance ticket.

In addition to the Bay Shore location, detectives believe Mejia Carranza was previously operating an illegal dental business at 135 Broadway in Huntington Station.
