NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Stew Leonard's issued a recall Thursday for its chocolate chunk banana bread after receiving a complaint about an unlisted ingredient on the label.

The recall was initiated after a customer discovered walnuts in a loaf of chocolate chunk banana bread, though the nuts were not declared on the label.

Thirty-nine units of the product were sold in Stew Leonard's bakery department between Sept. 26 and Oct. 2 at the grocery chain’s Danbury, Conn., location.

People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product.

No illnesses have been reported, the company said.

Stew Leonard's urged customers who purchased the bread to discard it or return it to the store's customer service desk in Danbury for a full refund.
