NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Police on Tuesday released a photo of a suspect accused stealing a dog from the front yard of a New Jersey home over the weekend.

According to officials, the victim let her Shih Tzu poodle mix out to roam in the front yard of her home in the 100 block of Norfolk Street in Newark at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18.

When the dog did not return, surveillance video captured the suspect taking the animal and walking south on Norfolk Street, cops said.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black coat, black pants, and a black hat.
