
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection to a fatal shooting in Jersey City, New Jersey that occurred last week, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday.
The teen—whose identity has not been released due to him being a minor—is charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, prosecutors said. He is charged as a juvenile.
The shooting took place shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Friday near Lembeck Avenue and Old Bergen Road.
Rahmiere Morris, 20, was shot in the torso. Officials transported him to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead just over an hour later.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and Jersey City Police Department conducted the investigation and arrested the teen at a residence on Garfield Avenue on Monday.
