BAYONNE, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Five New Jersey teens were charged Tuesday after chaos broke out when one of them threatened to kill a McDonald's employee.

Bayonne Police Captain Eric Amato told NJ.com that officers responded to the McDonald's at West 25th Street and Broadway on the report of a 15-year-old boy threatening a female worker.

As cops detained the boy, a 16-year-old girl obstructed the investigation, and roughly 20 others approached the officers and began shouting obscenities at them, according to Amato.

After additional backup units came to aid cops attempting to disperse the crowd, a 15-year-old boy allegedly pushed a police officer and was taken into custody.

As the officer was securing the boy, Amato said the 16-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy attempted to intervene and were also placed into custody. Another 16-year-old boy was detained after he refused to leave despite repeated orders to do so.

The 15-year-old boy who made the initial threat to the worker was taken into custody at his home on Wednesday and has been charged with making terroristic threats, Amato said.

The 15-year-old boy accused of pushing the cop was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, failure to disperse and obstructing a governmental function.

A 16-year-old was charged with failure to disperse, while the other 16-year-olds were charged with obstruction and failure to disperse.
